In-line hockey rules
Not every attendant of the in-line hockey world championship in Beroun is an expert for rules. Let´s remind of the biggest differences between the FIRS and the ice hockey rules.
One of the biggest differences is the absence of offside or icing – in-line hockey is not limited by something like that so the play is more fluent.
In case of penalty of some of the players of the rival, the team plays 4 on 3 powerplay, in case of other penalty, 4 on 2 powerplay. Players watch out for playing against the rules because after the third minor penalty, they are given 10 minutes misconduct penalty. Game misconduct is possible with the fourth minor penalty. If a penalty is signalized and the team playing in advantage scores in its own net, the goal is regular.
And it can play an important role when speaking about standings – in case of two teams being equal in points, and tied in the game played against each other, the team with less goals scored against in all group matches is put higher (which means score of 40-1 is worse than 3-0). By that rule, FIRS wants to prevent strong teams hunting for better score in games against weak teams and sicken the weak teams´ effort.
