Report

Both opponents have already met – nobody could celebrate the victory because the game ended 4-4. Dominik Brauchli converted in the 2nd minute power play. The game was balanced but French players couldn´t find the way to score and they often let Swiss players breakaways.

From one of them Diego Schwarzenbach scored, French goalie Rebuffet had no chance to save. In 16th minute and after another beakaway the score was 3-0 and again the goal was again scored by Schwarzenbach. It maybe sounds crazy, but the first balanced half won Swiss 3-0.

At the beginning of the 2nd half French players didn´t convert their biggest opportunity and after a counterattack Swiss again scored – after awesome combination Schwarzenbach reached his hat-trick.

French misery continued and Schwarzenbach scored the 4th goal! After the time-out for Team France was Rebuffed replaced by Terry Lefranc. It was clear that Team Switzerland will play the final game but one more goal was scored by Julian Walker.

Comments

Christian Wittwer (Team Switzerland coach): I think that this game was our best in this tournament. Somebody can think from the scoreboard that was an easy game but it wasn´t. We had to stay calm and concentrated. Tomorrow we will play final game and we have to play our best.

Bernard Seguy (Team France coach): It is hard for me to find some words. We played our worst game in this championship. The opponent conversely played very well, he was better in skating and we couldn´t stop them so we made fauls. In power plays Swiss were strong and dangerous. The opponent won deservedly.
