Young French team would like to claim a medal

French woman national team played against Finland in quaterfinals. After the dramatic first half, France stood up and Finns were scored three goals against them. And those goals decided which team to put through to semifinals. France defeated Finland 4-1.

French woman national team has had two bronze medals from world championshops 2005 and 2007. After putting themselves through quaterfinals, French women got one step closer to podium again.

"It was a tough game, girls were frightened because we have young women in the roster. But we managed to reach semifinals so we are really happy now. We will play against Canada, which is a strong team and it will be a tough game. Against Finland, we were scored a goal against us from the first shot on goal, I guess, and they tied the game 1-1. That was a big shock for us. Girls were nervous during the intermission so I tried to cheer them up. We had a talk and we did it!," says Eric Perraudin, the coach of the French woman national team.

Majority of French players focus only on in-line hockey, which should be a big advantage of the team. There isn´t any problem of getting from ice hockey to in-line hockey.

Are goal at this championship is influenced by the team structure. Because players have been gaining experience. We would like to get to the podium but we have to practise harder. It will not be easy," the French coach closes a short interview.

"I am glad we managed to go through because it was a tough game. I had been worried we could have been nervous. And we were, after the first half. But our coaches motivated us during the intermission. And we calmed down," commied herself seventeen-years old Juliett Menilli.

We get into the game well. We were leading by one goal, but Finland tied the game and everything had been opened since that moment. Goal on 3-1 decided the game I would say," the French defenseman adds.
