Even though being defeated by the USA, France remains self-confident before the quaterfinals against Finland

France belongs among those teams that will think about claiming medals. The team placed 2nd in the group, right behind the souverains - the USA. "There is a chance for claiming a medal," says Marie Ravix, player of the French national team

In-line players of the French woman national team put one victory, one draw and one defeat in the group standings. And even if they didn´t manage to perform the best way against the USA, before the quaterfinals against Finland they still believe in their progress to semifinals. "We will definitely want to win. We have been quite good in games against Finland and we haven´t lost against them the last three years. And we want to go on this way," determinedly says Marie Ravix, who plays at her first in-line hockey world championship.

Players of white and blue have managed to claim bronze medals three times. And the players of coach Eric Perraudin would like to stand on the podium this year as well. "There is a chance for claiming a medal but we will have to work hard. And if we are luckym everything is possible," says Ravix. "This is my first world championship and I really like it here. The organisation is very good and everything is nice all-around. We arrived by bus from France but that wasn´t any problem." adds the player, who is still waiting for her first point at the tournament.

The best performance showed Ravix & co. against Slovakia on Sunday, they beat them 5-0. A day after, their perfomance didn´t seem so well coordinated against the USA. The question is, if the preparation had been sufficient. "We meet during the year. Five or six times a year at different national team events, so that´s not the problem. We are from different parts of the country, many girls live in Paris or it´s surroundings, some are from Grenoble or Bordeaux. I come from the Spanish border," the twenty-years old Marie discloses.

In-line hockey is quite popular in France. Meanwhile Czech players only have in-line hockey as an add-on to ice hockey, in France it is vice versa," young Marie affirms. "I do specialize on in-line hockey, I don´t even play ice hockey. And majority of the girls of the national team do it the same way," Marie Ravix ends up the interview.
