Young Team China gathers experience

Tournament´s newcomer from China earns new experience in Beroun, but everyone who has visited arena in Beroun has to agree that they can be proud of their diligence. They never give up.

For the first time the Chinese players (also Team Slovakia debuts in Beroun) can prove their abilities in in-line hockey. Their team is quite young and gather experience. Their age average is only 19 years.

Fei Mo, 25-year-old defender, belongs to leaders of her team. She already participated also at World Ice Hockey World Championship. „Our goal is to win at least one point or more. Primarily we want to play our best. We also want to gain some experience after playing against other teams from whole world.“

The whole team comes from two places in China. „We chose players from two clubs which play games in in-line hockey.“ No regular league is played in her country, but every year there are national games arranged, where in-line hockey players play, as well. „In-line hockey in China is also played in town´s stadiums, but there is no regular league.“

Chinese players are satisfied with organization and neighborhood. „People in Beroun are very nice and players are friendly,“ further said Mo, who plays also ice-hockey.

Asian team has played only two games on the tournament at the moment, but their longed-for goal wasn´t realized. At first Chinese players were defeated 0:13 by home team the Czech Republic and one day after lost 0:11 to Team Canada. „We made a lot of changes after last game, tried to get more players into the game, make more shifts. We conceded ten goals, but it is still success for us,“ head coach of Team China Jinxue Fu said after last game.

Next game awaits Chinese team today – at 2:30 pm against Team Finland. „We want to build on this performance tomorrow against Finland and try to cause an upset,“ finished our interview Jinxue Fu.
