Czech roster unclassified, contains the name of the ice hockey World champion Rachůnek!

Czech national team will open the second part of the championship against Italy on Monday. After women winning gold, man national team is one of the top seeded as well. Coaches Jiří Suhrada and Daniel Tvrzník built a very strong team with players of the league in-line hockey champions from team Beroun and ice hockey players of the first tier.

Thirty-years old defensemen Karel Rachůnek is undoubtedly the biggest star of the Czech national team roster. although he has been attending world championships regularly, he is better known as an ice hockey player. It was him, who tied the game against Sweden, seven seconds before the end of regular time, and sent the Czech republic to the way to unexpected gold from the ice hockey world championship in Germany. The player of the KHL´s Jaroslavl had an assist at the game winner of Tomáš Rolinek in the gold medal game too.

The roster of the Czech national team contains some other names of professional ice hockey players, besides Rachůnek. Jan Snopek and Milan Toman are the pillars of defense of their extraleague teams - České Budějovice and Kladno. David Balázs, a former player of Litvínov and Karlovy Vary, is the player of the second tier Kadaň nowadays. The thirty-six years old player is the oldest one of the team. Marek Loskot, player of Mladá Boleslav and IHC Slavia, stays on the other side of the age distension.

Two goalies of this year´s play off´s finalists were given credit to stand in the crease at the world championship. The older one, Roman Handl, represented the Czech republic at the IIHF in-line hockey world championship, and was awarded the best goalie of the tournament. He helped the Czechs to win silver medals in Sweden. Twenty-four years old Ondřej Jirkův belonged among talents of the Czech goaltending in his junior years. As a player of Karlovy Vary, he won statistics of the junior extraleague in 2004/2005 and this year, he led Brno to the final of play off´s.

Forward Patrick Šebek also played for the vice-championship from Brno, and six players from the team of this year´s champion, Beroun, got into the roster of the national team. Besides Handl, defenseman Martin Tvrzník and forwards David Balázs, Jan Besser, Jan Rudovský and Petr Šinágl will live through the advantage of their city being hosts of the world championship.
